Kerry Wilson & Sarah Patten owners of Wilson's Pet Bakery

Sarah has worked in pet trade for over 20 years.  She is a City and Guilds qualified professional dog groomer and ran a very busy dog grooming parlour called 'Classy Canines' in Stoke-on-Trent for many years.   Kerry had been a professional entertainer since 1987  (impressionist/comedienne & singer), she'd had great success on the cabaret circuit and had notched up many TV appearances.  However,  in 2002 Kerry was wishing to change career direction, she re-trained in multi-media and also became a business partner with Sarah and together they opened Doggie Fashions Ltd.  This business grew to become a hugely successful luxury dog boutique and their beautiful store is now located at Trentham Gardens, Staffordshire.  Kerry was eventually able to give up the glamorous world of entertainment (late nights, long distance travelling, toilets for changing rooms and being away from friends and family for all social occasions), Sarah put her scissors & slicker brushes down and they both dedicated every waking minute to Doggie Fashions which was going from strength to strength.

After already selling some bakery treats at Doggie Fashions, which had been imported from the USA, they realised customers wanted something different with regards to treats for their dogs but sadly when the recession hit the US and UK markets importing treats became too expensive and incredibly difficult. Not to be deterred Kerry decided to try and make her own baked dog treats and after doing LOTS of research into recipes for dog treats created her own top-secret recipe and Wilson's Pet Bakery began.

When decorating the cakes she had a eureka moment and came up with the box of chocs for dogs idea, it was all very exciting. They started to sell the treats in their shop in Oct 2008 and the response from their customers was incredible. The dogs LOVED them and so did Kerry & Sarah’s own dogs (chief testers). With this tremendous encouragement Kerry went on to train in cake decorating, bakery and advanced chocolate skills to help to develop Wilson’s Pet Bakery.   Together they are taking this business forward very quickly and are now supplying bulk wholesale to many pet shops throughout the UK & Europe, (their customers also adore these treats). They have major plans for the business and are working round the clock constantly to meet demand and to make sure dogs world wide enjoy their delicious treats!
